Engraving Gone Wrong
One of the most exciting parts of it being your birthday is opening gifts from friends and family or in this case your fiancé. But, what do you do when the gift ends up being a major fail? You laugh -- or at least that's what one Manchester woman did.
Hayley Woodward, who was celebrating her 30th birthday, received a wine glass from her fiancé Daniel Varey and all was fine and dandy until she read the message engraved on it, which read: "Can we have it delivered before Monday if possible as that's her 30th. Nice one."
Varey explained to the Daily Mirror, "I clearly messed up the [order form]. We laughed our heads off straight away. We saw the funny side of it."
"It was supposed to say 'Happy 30th Birthday Princess. Love you millions xxx," he clarified. "There was a page that asked what you wanted on the glass and below there was an 'add a note for the business' section. I must have mixed them up."
Varey added that his soon-to-be wife wasn't exactly shocked he made the mistake because, after four years together, she's used to him "being dopey."
That wasn't the only thing he flubbed on. He also somehow sent her a card with the wrong name on it.
"I'm called Harry now," Woodward teased.
Although Varey dropped the ball on those two gifts, he got it right with the rest. He also gifted his fiancée a tablet and a Spanish vacation scheduled for 2021 -- which he thankfully booked under the correct name.
