Forever a Pet Sitter
What would you do if you were asked to pet sit and the owners never returned?
That's the question one man was faced with when his neighbors left the care of their three pets in his hands.
According to Mirror Online, he was only supposed to be looking after the owner's two German Shepherds and cat for three weeks, but it has been a year and they still haven't returned.
"I don't know what happened to them, but they just never came back," the man said. "I don't know if they ended up in some sort of prison, or decided to just not come home at all."
When the neighbors left their furry friends in the care of their neighbor they gave the man $500 and told him that the reason they were leaving was to visit a relative in Taiwan. They also asked the man to look after their home which has proven to be a money guzzler after a pipe burst and flooded the basement.
"Between this and one of their dogs needing surgery I have spent several thousand dollars of my own money," he explained.
The man tried to contact the pet's owners but didn't have any luck until Reddit users suggested he go to the police. This resulted in a call that explained they had decided to extend their trip. They tried to arrange for a relative to pick up the animals but those plans fell through.
So, what did the man do?
"Me and my wife are going to keep the pets simply because well I don't think either of us can part with the dogs and his cat at this point," he explained.
