Thieves Steal Exhumation Liquid
In South Africa, where a strict lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic includes a ban on alcohol, thieves broke into a mortuary and made off with gallons of exhumation to take its place, according to the Daily Mail.
They reportedly stole four gallons of the of 97 percent proof exhumation liquid, which is normally used to preserve body parts from dead bodies which have to be dug up.
South Africa’s lockdown is currently in its seventh week, and the alcohol ban has people taking desperate measures to get their drink on. Supermarkets are seeing pineapples being cleaned out to the tune of tens of thousands per day by people trying to make a potent tropical beer, according the British newspaper.
The fluid, a South African police source tells the Daily Mail, “is rocket fuel without a doubt at 97 per cent proof,” and predicts that if the thieves do have a party with it, “they will wake up with one hell of a hangover.”
South Africa went into COVID-19 lockdown on March 26.
